HOUSE RULES

Overall, I've been really happy with Dungeons and Dragons 5E. House Rules I've added have been relatively minor. I always like to tinker with rules, but I might resist that impulse for this campaign.
House Rule #1: Magic Weapon Die-Step
Instead of getting a damage bonus with a magic weapon, the weapon's damage goes up one die step per bonus 'to hit'. So instead of Kelton’s +2 Longsword doing 1D8+2, it now does 1D12.
I've implemented this because I've never liked massive damage bonuses. I think there should always be a chance for a minor hit. Overall, while a character’s minimum damage is less, this rule change more than likely benefits characters as they can potentially do more damage. Critical hits are also potentially more effective.
House Rule #2: Masterwork Weapons
Masterwork weapons re-roll 1's initially rolled on damage dice. The second roll stands even if another 1 is rolled.
